40 Days of Letting Go and Letting God
Introduction to 40 Days of Lent – Rebirth and Renewal
Rule 6
“Loneliness and solitude are two different things. When you are lonely, it is easy to delude yourself into believing that you are on the right path. Isolation is better for us, as it means being alone without feeling lonely. But eventually, it is best to find a person who will be your mirror. Remember only in another person’s heart can you truly see yourself and the Presence of God within you. “*

Today, we are releasing confusion and embracing God’s Love for us.
Our Lent Booklet Invites us today to release and let go of overindulgence.
Underlying every indulgence, compulsion, and addiction is self will and a craving for power over some aspect of living. Overindulgence is undermining and self-wounding.
Willful seeking of pleasure through the senses to soothe pain and fill emptiness can be a wake-up call to study the spiritual dimensions of will, our executive faculty. Living from our true Divine nature is rooted in the understanding, that I do nothing on my own.
Beginning the day with spiritual practices harnesses the will, thereby calming cravings and reestablishing an inner sense of connection. The spiritual humility of releasing the need to have power over anything is nurtured by affirming: Not my will, but divine will for good is done through me. Divine will is given the reins. Inner integrity leads the way throughout the day. —Rev. Kathy Harwood Long
We can choose to embrace ourselves by saying: “Divine will for good is done through me.”
Rule No6 invites us today to look at how important the presence of other humans in our life is. We can only see ourselves clearly and our God Essence within through the presence of another. ‘Love thy neighbour’ means the acknowledgement of the important role ‘any other’ person plays in our life. When we are angry with someone, we are presented with an opportunity to learn about part of our nature that is in limitation. The person we are angry with plays an important role in our realising the truth of the matter and allow for positive change.
Today, I invite you to contemplate on the Rule No6 and the quote below. Let me know how practicing releasing overindulgence worked for you.
Today we affirm: Today, I release overindulgence.
Daily contemplative task: I would like to invite you to contemplate on people who brings the best and the worst out of you today. Chose one of each. In meditation ask what aspect of yourself you see reflected in each of them? Take the learning and express your gratitude for the inner guidance.

Note : *My writing is based on the book “40 Rules of Love” by by Elif Shafak and The Lent booklet by Unity.org
Personally, I think it is important to find the True meaning behind the word ‘LOVE’, understand it and experience it as a Spiritual Quality inherently within us.
I am going to walk this 40-day Lenten journey contemplating on the True meaning of Love, Divine Love, Spiritual Love for me by experimenting with the 40 rules and quotes from the Lent Booklet. Every day, between
the 5th of March to the 21 April 2025,
I will post a ‘rule’ from the book ’40 rules of Love’ and an a release idea from the book ’40 days of Rebirth and Renewal – Lent 2025′ by Unity.org. Then, we will contemplate on it and share about it in the UNITY EUROPE Facebook Group (CLICK HERE).
Let’s walk this journey together!
