From Darkness to Light

ADVENT and the 12 Days of Christmas
38-day Contemplation Series

“You beings on earth who are in deep slumber, awaken! Who among you has labored to run darkness into light and bitterness into sweetness?” Stop sleeping! Wake up! What are you waiting for? the Zohar

MESSAGE – Renewing the Story

You are not bound by who you were. You are shaped by who you are becoming.

Write one sentence beginning: “I am becoming…”

The 12 Powers

The Power of Order

In our Advent Booklet, today, Veronica Walker-Douglas reminds us that order is established through alignment with the structure of the Universe. Ask yourself: Am I holding on to anything that does not promote the best possible outcomes? Remember that you are always where you are meant to be and always divinely guided on your path.

Today, choose clarity over chaos and avoid being distracted by disorganization. Seek to make conscious choices to follow up and follow through. Plan with purpose and focus on completing priorities to live your life decently and in order.

QUOTES

Christianity: “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Rev. 21:5)
Buddhism: “With our thoughts, we make the world.”
Judaism: Repentance (teshuvah) means return and renewal.

ACTIVITY

Trusting the Unfolding – Reflect on something unresolved in your life. Practice trusting the process rather than the outcome.

Closing Reflection

The darkness was not an absence, but a womb.
The light is not an arrival, but a way of seeing.

Do some journaling if you like. Listen to the meditation/song (above) at least once.

On this day, I affirm …
I live in order and abide in love.

Closing Blessing

May the light we have touched guide our steps.
May the wisdom of many paths deepen our compassion.
May we walk forward together—from darkness into light.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Personally, I find that it is important to have a focus or an intention behind any endeavour.

Spending time with the intention to care for my mental health and spiritual well-being is always an effort. At the same time it can be fun! Reading short, warm, and enlightening messages and affirmations, doing a short task or listening to a piece of music take only a few minutes a day but it makes  a gigantic difference in my life. During these few minutes a day, I peek out of the darkness, the world full of woe, into the Light: into the Peace, Joy, Love and Warmth of the Divine Presence.

I am going to walk this Christmas journey contemplating on the Divine Light and enjoying the sense of Peace, Joy and Love that it comes with.
