MESSAGE – Dwelling in the Light

Stand in the light you have discovered. It is already enough.

Visualize light filling you and extending outward to others.

12 Powers

The Power of Zeal

In our Advent Booklet, today, Rev. Todd Humphrey says that directing our attention to the divine presence born in us on Christmas, we awaken to new, more expansive experiences of joy and love.  A growing awareness of divinely inspired desires awakens a deep commitment to the divine purpose of our life. Using our faculty of zeal, we transform inspiration into right action.

QUOTES

Islam: “God is the Light of the heavens and the earth.” (Qur’an 24:35)
Hinduism: “From darkness, lead me to light.” (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)
Christianity: “You are the light of the world.” (Matt. 5:14)

ACTIVITY

Dwelling in Illumination – Sit in stillness and imagine yourself bathed in light. Allow it to settle into every place that once felt shadowed.

Closing Reflection

The darkness was not an absence, but a womb.
The light is not an arrival, but a way of seeing.

Do some journaling if you like. Listen to the meditation/song (above) at least once.

On this day, I affirm …
I choose right words and right action to enthusiastically
express the Divine in me

Closing Blessing

May the light we have touched guide our steps.
May the wisdom of many paths deepen our compassion.
May we walk forward together—from darkness into light.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Personally, I find that it is important to have a focus or an intention behind any endeavour.

Spending time with the intention to care for my mental health and spiritual well-being is always an effort. At the same time it can be fun! Reading short, warm, and enlightening messages and affirmations, doing a short task or listening to a piece of music take only a few minutes a day but it makes  a gigantic difference in my life. During these few minutes a day, I peek out of the darkness, the world full of woe, into the Light: into the Peace, Joy, Love and Warmth of the Divine Presence.

I am going to walk this Christmas journey contemplating on the Divine Light and enjoying the sense of Peace, Joy and Love that it comes with.
